Hajee Ebrahim Amod Kaka
Proprietor of the firm of S. Hadjee & Co., Lichtenburg. Born Kholvad, 1886. Educated Kholvad.
Came to South Africa when a boy, landing at Lourenço Marques, then came to the Transvaal where he started his business career. First in private employment at Klerksdorp, went back to India in 1909. In the same year made a pilgrimage to Mecca. 1910–13 stayed in Kholvad, visiting Calcutta, Delhi, Deohan, etc.
Then returned to South Africa via Colombo. In March 1913, came to Lichtenburg, where he joined in partnership his brother's firm of S. Hadjee & Co., general dealers, with which he is still connected. Has added a branch at Coligny, founded March 1917. Both are flourishing general dealers' businesses, numbering a large clientele of Europeans, both Dutch and British, by whom he is highly respected.
Public activities: Secretary, Kholvad Education Dept. (non-official); was Secretary, Lichtenburg Indian Committee.

Mahomed Goolam Hoosen Kaka
Proprietor of the firm of M. Mahomed & Co. Born Kholvad, 1901.
Came to South Africa with his father as a boy of 10; returned to India for education, 1914–18. On his second entry he joined his father in business. On July 1, 1921, he opened his own store at Lichtenburg.
Industry and ability were responsible for the success of the firm, which is one of the leading Indian stores in the area. Is prominently associated with the Indian public activities of the district and is highly esteemed by all sections of the community. Is keen on sport; plays cricket: President, Oriental Muslim Cricket Club.
